Joint Promotional Committee Records [1954-1959]

Records in this series comprise those pertaining to the introduction of the new worship resources created by the two commissions charged with creating a new liturgy and hymnal for the Lutheran churches participating in the commissions. In charge of the introduction was the Joint Promotional Committee for the Introduction of the New Service Book and Hymnal. Records dates from 1954-1959 and include a copy of the Service Book and Hymnal and two companion resources, as well as a notebook used in the introduction of the new worship resource. Also included are articles, news releases, topical papers, and new clippings related to the publication of the new hymnal. Records related to the committee itself include minutes, memoranda, reports, and news bulletins.
